We partnered with NGO leaders to host a seminar to provide an overview and exploration of the role and impact of mainstream, advocacy, and popular culture and social media coverage of child marriage. We also hoped to identify opportunities to enhance the influence of the media and to ensure responsible storytelling.

In this National Press Club event, our colleagues shared revealing analyses of ideas and images in the media. They showcased innovative approaches starting to: chip away at the norms perpetuating child marriage, inspire activism, and encourage decision-makers to commit to protecting girls’ rights.

Though the event is over, it's not too late to participate: Watch the discussion, reflect on the report, be inspired by media activism from around the world, and join the conversation at #Lead4Girls.
