Gender Analyses

We have conducted gender analyses supporting the institutional commitments of numerous organizations, from Global Financing Facility, MARS and Save the Children, to UNFPA, and USAID. These span projects around the world including India, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Yemen, and Madagascar.

  • The Global Financing Facility’s Roadmap for Advancing Gender Equality has informed the organization’s work for the past several years.

  • MARS’s A Sustainable, Thriving Cocoa Sector for Future Generations: The Business Case for Why Women Matter and What to Do About It assessment of gender inequality in Cote d’Ivoire’s cocoa sector was shared among other major cocoa producers, posted on the MARS website and informed a major subsequent collaboration with CARE to address the neglect of women in the cocoa supply chain.

  • Save the Children’s gender equality and girls’ empowerment strategic plan led to the hiring of a new vice president dedicated to gender equality, and a major emphasis on gender and related issues within the organization.

  • The USAID reports and resources were abruptly made unavailable in January of 2025.

Madagascar's rich culture and vulnerable ecosystems frame my gender analysis for USAID’s next five-year strategy.

The analysis reveals significant gaps in women’s representation across all spheres. In agriculture, where most people work, women are limited to small-scale production; climate change is making small-scale farming and women’s caregiving roles much more difficult.
