Marcos Nascimento, PhD

Marcos is a psychologist with a master’s and doctorate in Collective Health from the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro. He is currently a researcher at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation. From 2017 to 2021, he coordinated the Graduate Program in Child and Women’s Health at the Fernandes Figueira Institute. He is also co-editor of the “Child, Woman, and Health” series published by Fiocruz.
He has experience leading national and international projects involving research, social intervention, and advocacy on topics related to gender, sexuality, masculinity, violence, and health. From 2000 to 2011, he served as Executive Director for Promundo. He has served as a consultant for United Nations agencies, private foundations, and public organizations and was a contributer to the Lancet series on gender norms and health.
